On Friday, March 8th, in an event marking International Women’s Day, the 6th year students heard from Sinead Lynam. Working as Training & Development Officer with the International Development section of the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) for a number of years, Sinead gave the students an overview of her career to date, providing all those in attendance with an engaging and inspiring account.
Sinead was introduced to the audience by E Lennon. Afterwards, together with fellow Leaving cert student M Forkin, E Lennon facilitated a Q&A session, where students had an opportunity to ask follow up questions about Sinead’s life and career. Sinead’s extensive studies and multi-faceted career have taken her to a variety of different locations, including South Africa, the UAE and the Gambia, she was happy to share her experience and insights with the audience.
This event was being held as part of Wellbeing Week 2024. Afterwards, the students had an opportunity to relax and catch up with their classmates over a cuppa. Refreshments were provided by the 5th year Wellbeing team, ably led by Ms Geraldine Morris and Inion Ni Anluain.
Funding for the event was provided through Drogheda Credit Union with Ms Suzanne Gilleece, Branch Manager and herself a past pupil, providing support. School secretary and Chair of Drogheda Credit Union Geraldine Gilsenan was also in attendance on the day. We would also like to thank Worldwise Global Schools (WWGS) funded by Irish Aid, for their support with running this annual event in the school calendar. We are so grateful to both organisations – the event proved to be hugely enjoyable for students and staff in attendance.
